Toyota Motor is preparing to launch the upcoming Innova HyCross MPV for global markets later this year. Ahead of the launch, the automaker was teasing some of the changes that the MPV would undergo in its new avatar. After showcasing the front face and the new Innova HyCross profile, Toyota teased the interior for the first time. The teaser shows that the MPV will have a panoramic sunroof, a first for the model. However, the sunroof will likely be for the high-spec variants only. It will also come with ambient lighting.
Earlier, leaked images of the Innova HyCross showed the front face with an updated grille. The new vertical hexagon grille is more dynamic with chrome accents. The new grille is surrounded by a series of headlight units that are thinner and less bulky. At the moment, it is difficult to say whether it will have LED technology. The hood also has strong character lines to give it an SUV-like face.
The Toyota Innova HyCross profile has also been slightly modified to make it look different from existing Innova Crysta models. It has a roofline that curves slightly towards the rear for a more SUV-like look. The wheel arches are also large and are expected to have 16- or 17-inch wheels.
The new Innova HyCross will be based on Toyota's TNGA platform. It will be equipped with a 1.8-liter and 2.0-liter petrol engine paired with a powerful hybrid or hybrid engine. It is also expected to come with more features such as a new infotainment screen, digital instrument cluster, 360-degree parking camera, and ventilated seats, among other things.
According to reports, the price of the new Toyota Innova HyCross MPV will start at IDR 455 million (roughly converted to around Rs 23.75 lakh). Toyota is expected to launch the new Innova HyCross in India on November 25. It will likely be sold alongside the existing model Innova Crysta.
