Kia has announced that it has inaugurated India's fastest passenger car charger at its Gurugram dealership. The newly inaugurated charger has a capacity of 150 kWh. This DC fast charger is installed at Dhingra Kia, Gurgaon.
The company says that by installing the latest fast charger, it has taken its first step towards developing an electric vehicle infrastructure in India. In addition, the company will install more fast chargers in the coming days. These chargers will provide access to charging solutions for all electric vehicle owners.
Kia India launched the new EV6 in the country a few weeks ago. It says it is building a dedicated charging infrastructure for its electric vehicle customers in India. It will install 15 chargers of this type in 12 cities for the next month in the country. "We started with the ambition to make electric car ownership aspirational and launched our best global electric car - the Kia EV6 in India - earlier this year. The latest unit installed is a 150 kWh power charger that delivers 10 to 80 percent of a charge in less than 42 minutes (may vary by model), the company says. He adds that customers can visit the dealership and get the vehicles charged by paying as per the usage.
"At Kia India, we always strive to provide a superior customer experience and believe that these fast charging solutions will eliminate the range and charging time concerns faced by EV owners. We have embarked on the journey of providing an unrivaled EV experience at all of our EV Dealerships across the country and here, too, we will be able to meet the EV charging requirements of other OEMs We will install a total of 15 such chargers in 12 cities by August 2022, and We hope that these small steps will go a long way in promoting the adoption of electric vehicles in the country.”
