The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Maestro edition brings Mercedes Me Connect technology to the luxury sedan along with features like Alexa and Google Home integration, plus parking locations.
Mercedes-Benz India introduced the S-Class Maestro at Rs. 1.51 crore and brought Mercedes Me Connect technology to the brand’s flagship luxury sedan. This technology uniquely brings Alexa and Google Home integration with Mercedes Me in the S-Class, as well as parking solutions with mobility.
Connected car technology has been seen in the last spur to launch the brand through 2020 and will be available more actively on new and existing products in 2021, according to the company. The updated edition also comes as the W222 is on the final leg of its journey in India and will be replaced by the W223 version later in the year.
Speaking about the launch of the new edition of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Maestro, Martin Schwenk, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, said, “Mercedes Me Connect has been a hallmark in the luxury segment since its inception, and we are excited about it. We believe that in an increasingly connected world the vehicle will become an integral part of the customer’s life and we are pleased to make steady progress towards this direction through our MMC strategy. At Mercedes-Benz India, one of the main priorities is to introduce the latest improvements in automotive technology. Today, we are glad to strengthen our competitive edge in the connected car technology domain by launching 3 new exclusive features with the MMC, which are deployed OTA free of cost to all Mercedes Me connect customers in India. With this, we ensure that our customers and their Mercedes-Benz vehicles are always updated.”
The most distinctive features of the new Mercedes S-Class Maestro include Alexa and Google Home integration with Mercedes Me connect. Users can give voice commands to the car with Alexa Echo or Google Home devices directly from searching for real-time updates to lock/unlock the car remotely. The new POIs feature shows parking locations available in different parts of the city and will appear on the navigation system or even the Mercedes Me app maps. The feature shows structured parking locations outside the street as well as shopping malls, buildings, and paid parking lots among others. It will also provide bifurcation for both covered and uncovered parking lots. Finally, there is also Magic Sky Control with a panoramic sunroof that offers a two-part glass unit with a translucent convertible.
Additionally, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class can now be ordered in a brushed brown leather option with a diamond white paint scheme. The formulation was previously specific to the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class and is now offered in standard editions as well. Other aesthetic improvements include a special eucalyptus wood trim. The special version is offered with a 3.0-liter diesel engine that generates 281 hp and 600 Nm of peak torque. The car can run from 0-100 km / h in 6 seconds.
Mercedes Me is offered with features like vehicle tracking, remote locking/unlocking, speed limit alerts, pre-cooled cabin, and more. The technology also comes with an e-Call / SOS button built in to notify emergency services in the event of an accident. There is also a “Me” button inside the vehicle that connects users to the Customer Help Center for inquiries about features, malfunctions, and roadside assistance. Mercedes Me connect is getting Over-The-Air (OTA) updates and new connected features will be automatically available on existing cars from the manufacturer as well.
