Tata Signa 3118.T 3-Axle Heavy Truck With 31-Tonne GVW Launched In India

Tata Motors announced the launch of the new Signa truck in the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M & HCV) segment. The automaker says it is India's first 3-axle rugged 6x2 truck with 31 GVW. Tata's latest offering in the M & HCV segment comes in 24ft, 32ft in the iconic Signa with Lx and Cx versions and a soft-top variant. It is powered by a Cummins BS6 engine tuned to develop a maximum power of 183 hp against a maximum torque of 850 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed G950 transmission with heavy-duty axles.

With a certified load of more than 3,500 kg, the new Tata Signa 3118.T offers almost 45 percent of the net operating profit compared to a truck with a load of 28 tons. According to Tata Motors, the additional investment in a heavy truck, compared to a 28-ton truck, can be recouped in less than a year of operations.
