Statiq launches fast EV charging station in Amritsar in partnership with Nexus Malls

New Delhi: Statiq, India's largest electric vehicle (EV) charging network provider, in association with Nexus Malls, has launched Amritsar's first EV charging station at Nexus Amritsar Mall. The charging station is equipped with two 60kW EV DC fast chargers to charge all types of electric vehicles available in the Indian market. Statiq said in a press release that the vehicles can be charged up to 80% in about 40 minutes.

With this association, Statiq is launching 17 EV charging hubsacross 13 cities: Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Udaipur, Mangalore, Chandigarh, Mysore and Indore. The mall's parking lots will offer a mix of slow and fast chargers so users can easily charge their two-, three- and four-wheel electric vehicles, according to the statement.

The holy city of Amritsar is also becoming a smart city in recent years. A clean and carbon- less mobility system is one of the key and indispensable components of an emerging smart city ecosystem. It goes without saying that the installation of this charging station will make life much easier for the countless electric vehicle users in the city, making their daily commute comfortable and hassle-free. At the same time, it will also give non-electric vehicle owners confidence to help them in their decision to switch to electric vehicles instead of mainly petrol and diesel vehicles. For a highly polluted city like Amritsar, this is also a big step in terms of tackling pollution, said Akshit Bansal, co-founder and CEO of Statiq.
