NHAI FasTag app updated to provide balance status to users

This new function in NHAI FasTag app will help the highway user and toll operator to see the card balance status in real time and eliminate the matter of the card balance dispute.
New Delhi - The National Roads Authority of India (NHAI) said on Monday that it has updated its FasTag app to add a new feature to provide balance status to users.

NHAI said: “As FASTag is mandatory within the toll sector as of January 1, 2021 and to ensure its smooth implementation, NHAI has updated its 'My FastTag App' with a new 'Check Balance Status' function by simply entering the vehicle number".

This new feature will help users and operators to check balance status in real time and eliminate any dispute.
In addition, the authority has reduced the time limit for updating blacklisted labels from the current 10 minutes to 3 minutes, to speed up the status update in the ETC system and display the current status in the application for fluid traffic.

My FASTag app will display the FASTag wallet balance status in; green for active tag with sufficient balance, orange / amber for low balance marks, and red for blacklisted tags.

In the orange case, vehicle users can instantly top up using the mobile app or take advantage of the instant top-up feature at the point of sale (POS).

More than 40,000 points of sale have been installed in public squares throughout the country in association with 26 banks.
