The latest-gen Hyundai i30 has been seen testing near the automaker’s plant in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It has been spied testing multiple times but it is still not confirmed that the car will be launched in India. If it launches in the Indian market, it will be a hatchback priced at Rs. 10 lakhs approximately.
Hyundai Motors may introduce the N Brand to the domestic market in the coming time. N is the performance division of the Hyundai brand internationally and it also works with the Hyundai motorsport as well. It is known to build outstanding rally cars as well. The cars with the N badge are the higher performance versions of the basic production models.
The first N production model has been the Hyundai i30 N. With time, the range further included the i30 Fastback N and the Veloster N as well as the Tucson N Line. The car has an impressive performance that is hard to ignore. Although, there is no confirmation of it yet there are also plans to build the N version of the Hyundai i20 (most likely for the next-gen model only). They are also thinking of adding the N line variants for Hyundai Kona and Hyundai Creta as well.
In the Indian market, these models will be the most successful. While also, the i-series Hatchbacks including Hyundai Grand i10 and the Hyundai Elite i20 are popular names in the Indian market. If the coming of the Hyundai i30N to the domestic market is finalized, then it can prove to be a good competition to the Skoda Octavia VRS, Mini Cooper JCW, Volkswagen GTI (soon to be launched) and others of the niche segment.
Currently, there is no information found on whether Hyundai will be bringing the i30 N to India or not. It is safe to say that the car has been produced for the future and the chances of the car being launched in the domestic market anytime soon are bleak.
The Hyundai i30 is a premium car in the hatchback segment. It is the model above the Hyundai i20 model that is widely sold in the Indian market. At the rear end of the car, there is also a rear diffuser that helps to enhance its aerodynamics. On the other hand, it has dual exhausts that come with three different settings that enable the altering of the sound of the exhaust. The Electro-mechanical Limited Slip Differential (e-LSD) helps to ensure that the right amount of torque is being distributed among the wheels of the car.
The car is also equipped with amazing interior features. Some of these include cruise control for fatigue-free driving even if it is on a highway, the multi-function leather steering wheel, an information display, and many others. The car also comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that contains the satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also has a dual-pane panoramic sunroof that brings airiness into the cabin of the car. The car seats come with the leather upholstery.
The Braking system is handled by the ventilated discs in the front as well as the rear. The i30N has all the required safety equipment including multiple airbags, an Anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist system, traction control, and stability control.
Some of the other features of the i30 include dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, heated and ventilated seats, push-button start, powered driver’s seat and a multi-info display.
