Toyota Fortuner TRD Limited Edition Launched In India; Prices Start At ₹ 34.98 Lakh

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced the launch of the new limited edition Toyota Fortuner TRD in India. The new limited edition model of the Fortuner TRD is offered in two variants 4×2 diesel automatic and 4×4 diesel automatic. TRD limited edition model is priced at ₹ 34.98 lakh and ₹ 36.88 lakh respectively. These are ex-showroom prices and are applicable across the country, except for Kerala. Inspired by Toyota Racing Development (TRD) heritage, the new Fortuner TRD comes with several sporty design elements, including a pearl white dual-tone shade, black roof, black exterior elements, and signature TRD branding.

Naveen Soni, senior vice president of sales and services for TKM, commented on the launch: “The Fortuner TRD Limited Edition is another attempt to meet customer demands by offering more of what they seek through unparalleled and segment-leading features. The Limited Edition is an important accessory to ensure customer safety, it is the Air Ionizer owing to concerns about the air we breathe in these difficult times. Plus, the Fortuner TRD is truly unique, and limited units are only provided for SUV aficionados in the country. ”

In addition to the TRD grille, the SUV comes with a new rear bumper, a skid plate with red accents on the tailgate, and 18-inch carbon black alloy wheels. Inside, the SUV comes with a dual-tone black and maroon interior colors and matching leather upholstery, along with woodgrain-pattern ornamentation and soft-touch materials. Rest all the features like Bi-Beam LED projector headlights with LED DRLs, 8-way adjustable power seats, 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, Hill Climb Control (HAC), and more remain unchanged.

The TRD Edition also has exclusive features such as 360 ° camera, auto-folding ORVMs, and illuminated scuff plates. In addition, Toyota also offers a range of optional accessories under Special Technology Package which includes a ‘Head-up Display (HUD), a tire pressure monitor (TPMS), a digital video recorder (DVR),  Wireless Smartphone Charger and Welcome door puddle lamp, and an air ionizer.

Under the hood, Toyota Fortuner TRD continued to feature the 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that produces a maximum of 174 bhp and 450 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle-shifters. Fortuner also features the automatic Idle Stop-Start Function.
