JBM Ecolife Mobility, a subsidiary of JBM Auto Limited, has clinched a contract to operate 1,390 electric buses under the PM-eBus Sewa scheme.
The company emerged as the top bidder, winning the tender for the procurement, supply, operation and maintenance of approximately 65% of the total electric buses. Additionally, the contract includes the development of basic electrical and civil infrastructure on a Gross Cost Contracting (GCC) basis.
The order, awarded by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), signifies a significant stride towards sustainable mobility in India. JBM Ecolife Mobility confirmed receipt of the Letter of Confirmation of quantities eligible for CESL award on March 19, 2024, solidifying its role in the ambitious eBus initiative.
The terms of the contract specify a timeline of between 12 and 18 months for execution, indicating swift deployment of electric buses across designated routes. With an approximate order value of Rs 7,500 crore, this contract is one of the largest in the electric mobility sector in India.
