Hyundai i20 third generation was launched in the country last year in November, just before the holiday season. The i20 has been a solid seller for the company and the new generation is looking to add more value to customers. Based on the K platform, the new i20 is bolder, more feature-packed and more powerful than its predecessor. The car is available in 4 variants: Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O). The premium hatchback is priced in the range from Rs.6.85 lakh to Rs.11.34 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).

The new generation of i20 is designed according to the brand’s “Sensory Sport” philosophy. It comes with a glossy black honeycomb grille, LED headlights, LED DRLs, Z-shaped LED taillights, diamond-cut alloys, and a two-tone roof option.

In terms of dimensions, the car increased in length and width by 10mm and 41mm, respectively, but the height did not change. In addition, the wheelbase has been increased by 10 mm. In fact, the automaker says rear legroom has increased by 88 millimeters.

The cabin of the new Hyundai i20 has received a massive update. It now comes with a two-tone treatment with contrast-stitched faux leather upholstery that enhances the cabin’s overall design. There is a new set of digital instruments and a TFT screen.

In terms of powertrain, the i20 shares its engines with compact SUVs. It includes a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5 litre diesel engine. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual gearbox along with a 6-speed iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission), iVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission) automatic and a DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) automatic unit.
