Honda Recalls 780,000 Vehicles in North America Over Fuel Pump Issue

Honda is recalling 720,810 vehicles in the United States due to a potential issue with the high-pressure fuel pump that may develop cracks and cause leaks.

The company has identified a defect in the high-pressure fuel pump core, which can lead to internal cracks. These cracks can expand during vehicle operation, potentially causing fuel leaks, a noticeable fuel odor while idling or driving, and an increased risk of fire, crashes, or injuries.

The recall affects specific models, including the 2023-2024 Honda Accord and Accord Hybrid, the 2023-2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid, and the 2025 Honda Civic and Civic Hybrid.

Owners of the affected vehicles will receive notification by mail in December. They will be advised to bring their vehicle to an authorized Honda dealer for a complimentary inspection. If the fuel pump is found to be defective, it will be replaced at no cost to the owner.

American Honda is urging all owners of the impacted vehicles to promptly schedule a repair appointment with an authorized dealer upon receiving the recall notice.
