Get Ready to Say Hello to the New WagonR!!!

Diwali is the best time to shop for new things- new clothes, new jewelry….so why not new cars? Maruti Suzuki, one of the leading names in the automobile world is all set to launch its new WagonR this Diwali! The plan is to retail about 18,000 units of this car every month since it is one of the best-selling models by the company.

Just like the existing model, this one too will have the signature tall-boy design, with ample space inside (possibly a bit more space than the existing one). In addition to the normal features found in the present-day WagonR, the new car is expected to have some special comfort features to give us a more luxurious ride. This will be accompanied by a touch-screen infotainment system along with steering-mounted controls.

As far as the exterior is concerned, the strongly-built chassis for high structural rigidity will be the prime feature to look at. The seat upholstery will be pricier and naturally of a supreme quality, thus making it more ergonomic for the travelers.

It will derive its power from an engine of 1-liter three-cylinder engine, which will be larger than the existing one and consequently, may have a larger bonnet too. The K-series petrol engine will be featured with a five-speed gearbox (manual) along with an optional automatic gearbox. It will produce 67bhp and 90Nm torque.

The rear side of the WagonR will be ado
ed with some LED tail lamps fitted into the pillar. The number board which was previously positioned at the boot lid will shift to the rear bumper in the new model. At the front portion, we may find a front grille ga
ished with chrome along with a new bumper. An abundance of chrome will also be observed at the door handles.

Some additional safety features are also expected to be found in the new car, though no detailed information is available in this regard as yet.

Coming to the financials, the new model will be priced at the range Rs 4.5-Rs 5.5 lakh. It will give a tough competition to its sister models like Celerio and Swift as well as models from other brands such as Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Tata Tiago. Currently, the sales sum up to around 14000 units per month; if the expected sales of 18,000 units per month are reached, it will attain the second position among the Maruti cars (after Alto), surpassing Dzire, Swift and Baleno from the same brand.

Last year the new WagonR was launched by Suzuki in Japan. It was based on the Heartect Platform that is also the platform for Swift, Baleno and Dzire. It is a modified version of the normal B-Platform on which the old Baleno was based. Earlier this year, the Indian version of the WagonR was seen in the streets of Delhi.

It is also being heard that another 7-seater version will release soon.

So car-lovers…..just a few months to go! Get ready to welcome the new launch from Suzuki this Diwali!
