Volvo Cars India has announced the launch and pricing of its 2021 Volvo S60 ahead of schedule. The new Volvo S60 is priced at 45.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Volvo has started accepting online vehicle reservations and deliveries of the new luxury sedan will begin in mid-March 2021. The company is also offering free membership to its exclusive “Tre Kronor Experience” program to the timely buyers of the new Volvo S60. In India, the Volvo S60 will face rivals like the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
The new S60 is based on Volvo’s Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform and receives a five-star rating from Euro NCAP. The new Volvo S60 shares safety technology and infotainment system with the best of the 90 Series cars and XC60. Volvo says the new Volvo S60 is one of the safest cars on the road.
“As a brand, we have saved more than a million people through our safety innovations and we are committed to helping save the next million. The new Volvo S60 is one of the safest sedans today and definitely helps us save more. Live,” Charles Fram. Said General Manager – Volvo Car India.
2021 Volvo S60 engine and gearbox details
Regarding the transmission, the Volvo S60 has a 2.0-liter petrol engine with an 8-speed automatic gearbox for now. Globally, the car has a 2.0-liter engine in a more powerful tuning condition, then a hybrid model is also offered. But there is no diesel and that could alienate potential customers in India. Volvo cars are usually luxury cars and are more focused on providing a comfortable driving experience than being sporty. The 2.0-liter engine generates 187 hp and 300 Nm of maximum torque, both of which are reasonable figures. Although, we hope that Volvo will bring a sportier engine option for the Volvo S60 in the future.
2021 Volvo S60 more features
The Volvo S60 comes with a redesigned front that features a bold chrome grille and Thor’s Hammer LED headlights with active curved lights. There are C-shaped taillights at the back. The 18-inch multi-piece black alloy wheels look absolutely gorgeous. The 2021 Volvo S60 interior features the 9-inch Sensus Connect infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a four-zone climate system, a rear parking assist camera, wireless charging, 600W / 14- Harman Kardon sound system, and aperture Panoramic roof.
With online reservations open for the 2021 Volvo S60, Volvo Car India is only accepting reservations through digital mode for the first time. The luxury car manufacturer claims the step has been taken “to keep customers safe for the time being while giving them a hassle-free buying experience”.
