The second batch of Volkswagen T-Roc that is scheduled to arrive early in the second quarter sold out.
Volkswagen India is focusing more on SUVs in its India strategy. Volkswagen is set to bring Taigun to India in the third quarter of this year, followed by a new SUV that will join in the next quarter. The Volkswagen Tiguan and T-Roc have already gone on sale in India and have already been sold out. Even more surprising, however, is that the second batch of Volkswagen T-Roc that is scheduled to arrive early in the second quarter also sold out. As of now, India allows foreign car manufacturers to import and sell up to 2,500 units in our market each year without the need for homologation.

The Volkswagen T-Roc was launched in India last year as a completely built unit (CBU) priced at Rs. 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 147 CV and 250 Nm of maximum torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission. The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.4 seconds and has a top speed of 205 km / h. The Volkswagen T-Roc is very well equipped and you will get LED daytime running lights, projection headlights, panoramic sunroof, two-tone alloy wheels, leather upholstery, automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, and virtual cockpit. Visually, T-Roc has a very familiar yet sporty design. However, it is 4,229mm long with a 2,595mm wheelbase and the proportions are quite compact.

The T-Roc is currently Volkswagen’s cheapest SUV here and rivals the likes of Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson, etc. There are a couple of reasons that are working in Volkswagen T-Roc’s favor. Firstly, the SUV offers adequate space for five passengers and can ferry their luggage, thanks to the 445-liters of boot capacity. The Volkswagen T-Roc is available in just one, a fully-loaded version which gets provisions like a touchscreen infotainment system with support for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a fully digital instrument panel, dual-zone climate control system, automatic headlights, panoramic sunroof, six-way adjustable driver seat and keyless entry.
