Triumph Motorcycles has revealed the 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900 with a Euro 5-complaint engine, and with styling updates and details.
Along with the 2021 Street Scrambler, Triumph has also unveiled a limited edition Street Scrambler Sandstorm limited edition with a unique paint scheme and a host of premium accessories that come as standard. Only 775 units of the Street Scrambler Sandstorm limited edition will be produced worldwide and will come with a unique personalized certificate of authenticity stating the bike’s VIN number.
2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900
The new Street Scrambler 900 is equipped with a Euro-5 compliant, 900cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine, producing 65 hp at 7250 rpm and 80 Nm of torque at 3250 rpm; It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Triumph Motorcycles claims the bike has a service interval of 16,000 km similar to Trident 660.
The Street Scrambler has steel, twin-cradle frame, suspended by a non-adjustable 41mm fork at the front and twin, preload-adjustable shocks at the rear. The bike is shod with Metzeler Tourance tyres, 19-inch in the front and 17-inch at the rear. The seat height is set at 790 mm, which is an advantage for shorter passengers.
The electronic package is the same as the previous model. It includes switchable ABS and traction control. There are three riding modes, rain, road, and off-road. The Off-Road Driving Mode completely turns off the traction control enabling riders to have complete control over the rear wheel when on loose surfaces.
2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900 Sandstorm Edition
The Triumph Street Scrambler Sandstorm Edition which is an ode to riding the Triumph in the deserts of El Mirage, Mojave, Barstow, and the Baja Peninsula is limited to 775 units worldwide.
While mechanically identical to the 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900 Standard, it features a number of cosmetic variations, including the unique Sandstorm paint scheme, with Matt Storm Grey and Ironstone highlights on the tank. The Sandstorm edition gets a few accessories as standards such as a heavy-duty aluminium sump guard, headlamp protector, rubber grip pads on the tank. Then there’s the raised front mudguard, headlight grille, rubber grip pads on the tank, and the tail-tidy unit that includes a LED taillight and number plate.
The new Triumph Street Scrambler 900 is expected to go on sale in India in the coming months. The bike could be priced between Rs 8.25 – 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be positioned beside the Ducati Scrambler Icon in India.
