2021 Skoda Fabia Revealed: Specifications, Design, Features

2021 Skoda Fabia will be offered in multiple body styles, comfort features and modern assistance systems.

The 2021 Skoda Fabia is finally revealed and is based on the MQB A0 platform. The upcoming Volkswagen Taigun and the Skoda Kushaq are also based on the localized version of the MQB AO platform which is called MQB AO IN in India. The fourth-generation Skoda Fabia is considered to be the most spacious car in its segment and offers advanced safety features along with comfort features and assistance systems.

2021 Skoda Fabia Engine Specifications

The new Skoda Fabia is available with five engine options. You get the three-cylinder 1.0-liter MPI EVO engine that offers two power tunes: 64bhp and 79bhp. There is a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder TSI EVO engine with two power tunes: 94 bhp and 109 bhp. The higher-spec variant has a 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with 148 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. This engine also has Active Cylinder Technology (ACT), which reduces fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.

The 2021 Skoda Fabia will be offered in multiple body styles including Combi, Monte Carlo, Combi Monte Carlo, Black Edition Combi Scoutline, Clever, and Combi Clever. The hatchback will be offered in 3 variants: Active, Ambition, and Style.
The new Skoda Fabia comes in a completely new and more modern design, with sculptural lines on the hood and athletic proportions The hatchback has a distinctive larger butterfly grille with a chrome outline. It also features a full LED lighting system with full-featured LED headlights and integrated L-shaped LED DRLs and LED taillights.

Interior

The hatchback has copper-colored and grey contrasting stitching. New LED ambient lighting (standard on Style variant) allows the driver to light up the dash trim in white or red. The center console and the front door handles can also be illuminated; In addition, the ambient lighting includes LED reading lights on the front and rear. Newly designed steering wheels add the finishing touch to Fabia’s cabin. The multifunction leather steering wheel is available in a sporty three-spoke style, with paddle shifters on the DSG. A heated steering wheel and heated windscreen for better visibility and increased winter safety also make their first appearance in the range. Previously, these comfort features could only be found in high-end vehicles.

The new Fabia gets a 10.25-inch digital console. Drivers can choose from a number of different layouts which suits their need.  A sporty design with a central speedometer will be offered as an option. The new Fabia can be ordered with a dual-zone climate control system, as well as air vents for the rear passengers.

In terms of dimensions, the new Skoda Fabia is 4,108mm long, 1,780mm wide, and 1,459mm high, making it significantly larger than the previous model. The hatchback offers 380-liters of boot space. The boot space can be increased to 1,190 liters by folding the second row of seats. It measures approximately 111mm long and 48mm wider than the previous model. The wheelbase has been increased by 94mm to 2564mm.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The hatchback comes with Skoda Connect (connected car tech). The 2021 Skoda Fabia will be offered with three different infotainment systems. The Swing, the entry-level system, has a 6.5-inch color touchscreen, a radio, and four front speakers. The Bolero offers a radio, 8-inch screen, Bluetooth hands-free system, and two additional speakers for surround sound in the rear doors. The higher-spec variant has a customizable 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation functionality. This system is compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also has voice control as optional and gesture control is standard.

Skoda Fabia Safety Features

The new Skoda Fabia comes with a Travel Assist, which provides multiple driver assistance features including adaptive cruise control, lane assist, hands-on detection (travel assistant can detect if the driver is touching the wheel), blind-spot detection, parking assist, traffic sign recognition ( yes, that’s true), and road assist with predictive protection for pedestrians and cyclists. The hatchback comes with up to 9 airbags.
