Hyundai Verna 2023 production begins; will offer these features

The 2023 Hyundai Verna is gearing up for an official launch in the country on March 21, and ahead of that, the company started manufacturing the midsize sedan. The South Korean automaker also revealed some background on the advanced technologies used in the manufacturing process of the new Hyundai Verna 2023. The automaker is producing the sedan at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chennai.

The carmaker  said the 2023 Verna will be the first sedan in the segment to feature Hyundai SmartSense, the company's Level 2 ADAS with around 17 safety features. These key safety features include Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, High Beam Assist and Driver Attention Warning, among others.

To ensure the safety of the occupants in the cabin, Hyundai says the new Verna 2023 has been designed to provide structural rigidity with increased thickness at the side profiles thanks to reinforced materials introduced to the centre and front floor. The sedan's IoT-enabled body building line features 100 percent welding automation, while more than 450 intelligent robots claim to handle welding and other operations.

Hyundai also claims that it has used technologies such as 3D scanning and infrared camera inspection to ensure the Verna's good build quality. More than 700 fourth-generation robot units are operating at the manufacturing facility to automate various manufacturing processes.

The latest Verna 2023 will have a 10.25-inch HD infotainment screen and a TFT MID digital cluster. You also get the first-in-class switchable infotainment system and climate control. Additionally, the 2023 Verna will be offered with heated and ventilated front seats, which is another feature within its class. An eight-speaker Bose audio system will be part of the feature list, the automaker claims.

The midsize sedan competing  with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Honda City gets its power from a 1.5-litre GDi turbocharged petrol engine, producing a peak output of 160 PS at 5,500 rpm and max torque of 253 Nm at 1,500-3,500 rpm.
