Hero MotoCorp has launched the new Passion Plus in India at a price of Rs 76,301 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The launch marks the return of the Passion Plus model to the Indian production line after it was originally dropped at the time of the shift to BS6 emission standards in 2020.
In terms of design, not much appears to have changed. The overall design appears unchanged at first glance, although a closer look reveals modifications to the bikini fairing along with revised graphics and the use of more chrome on the BS4 model. The new Passion Plus also has a toolbox located under the fuel tank for storage.
Hero Passion Plus also gets some key features like side stand indicator, USB charging port and part-digital instrument cluster.
Engine-wise, the Passion Plus is powered by the familiar 97.2cc single-cylinder mill also found in the Splendor Plus. The unit generates 7.9 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 8.05 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a four-speed gearbox and benefits from the stop-start technology of the Hero i3S. Stopping power comes from drum brakes at both ends. The bike is mounted on 80/100-18 tubeless tyres at both ends and has alloy wheels as standard.
Passion Plus will be available in three colors: Sport Red with Black, Black with Nexus Blue, and Black with Heavy Grey.
Passion Plus will go up against models like the Honda Shine 100 and Bajaj Platina 100.
