2026 Ducati Monster V2 Launched in India at ₹13.99 Lakh

Ducati Monster V2 made its debut in the Indian auto market with a price of ₹13.99 lakh (ex-showroom price). The newly launched version consists of the completely new engine of 890cc, the monocoque structure, and the introduction of lots of new electronic systems. This is considered to be the major update for this popular motorcycle in many years.

Reworked Design and Visuals

The 2026 Monster leans back into the nameplate's classic identity. The fuel tank picks up a more muscular, sculpted "bison back" shape, while the tail section moves toward softer, more traditional Monster proportions. A twin-exhaust system and reworked side panels complete the visual upgrade with noticeable Monster branding.

For 2026, the bike is available in two models and in three colors:

The Monster Plus version comes with a passenger seat cowl and a flyscreen, in addition to the Monster itself, and seeks to target riders that mainly ride alone and prefer a more refined look, nevertheless, it is still mechanically the same as the base bike.

All-New V-Twin Performance

Central to the new Monster is an all-new 890cc V-twin engine, taken from the Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2. The engine uses IVT technology to provide optimum low-end power.

The only reduction is that the new engine has a torque that is lesser by 2 Nm as per Ducati, which states that approximately 80 percent of the peak torque will still be available between 4,000 rpm and 10,000 rpm. Moreover, switching from belt-driven desmodromic valve system to spring-actuated valves reduces the valve clearance maintenance interval to an industry-leading 45,000 km.

Chassis, Electronics and Ducati Protect

The Monster moves to a new monocoque chassis, replacing the outgoing aluminium trellis frame, contributing directly to the bike's reduced overall weight.

Standard electronics include multiple ride and power modes, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, cornering ABS, and a six-axis IMU, all managed through a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster. Optional extras include TPMS, cruise control, turn-by-turn navigation, and heated grips.

Alongside the motorcycle, Ducati has introduced Ducati Protect, a periodic maintenance programme designed to make scheduled service costs more predictable for Indian owners, directly addressing one of the more persistent concerns around premium European motorcycle ownership in the country.
