The long-awaited subcompact SUV Renault KIGER is officially launched in India, with prices starting from Rs. 5.45 lakh and going up to Rs. 9.55 lakh (ex-showroom, India). While deliveries of the new Renault Kiger will begin in early March, the company has opened official reservations for the new Kiger at all of its showrooms in India at a payment of Rs. 11,000. Building on the company's CMF-A + platform, Kiger shares its basics with the Renault Triber MPV and the Nissan Magnite compact SUV. The new Kiger will be offered in four variants: the high-spec RXE, RXL, RXT and RXZ. The RXZ and RXT variants get a manual transmission with AMT and CVT. Renault will sell two-color models at an additional cost of Rs 17,000 across the range.rn

New Renault Kiger 2021 engine details
rnThe new Renault Kiger will be offered with two petrol engines and three transmission options. This includes the naturally-aspirated 1.0-liter petrol engine that actually powers the Triber MPV, and is tuned to generate 71 hp and 96 Nm of peak torque. This engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual and AMT unit. Kiger will also receive the new 1.0-liter petrol engine that was offered with the Nissan Magnite. The engine is tuned to generate 98 hp and 160 Nm of maximum torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or CVT automatic transmission.rnrn

New Renault Kiger 2021 design and features
rnIn terms of design and elegance, the new Renault KIGER seems to have borrowed its visual cues from its iconic hatchback, the Kwid. Upfront, the SUV comes with a sculpted hood, with a two-layer chrome-plated front grille flanked by LED daytime running lights. Below us is the muscular bumper housing the 3-port headlight unit in a black housing. The top-of-the-line model will receive what Renault calls its Clear Vision three-octave headlights. The SUV also has an underside, wheel arch, and side rim to accentuate its rugged look.rnrn

At the rear, the car features a stylish rear spoiler with a high-mount LED brake light, along with LED C-shaped taillights, a sculpted tailgate with a "Kiger" logo in the center, and a bumper. Back coated hard plastic with a synthetic silver skateboard. New Renault Kiger is offered in six color options: Caspian Blue, Radiant Red, Moonlight Gray, Mahogany Brown, Icy White, and Planet Gray. In terms of dimensions, the SUV is 3991 mm long, 1750 mm wide, and 1,600 mm high. The Kiger has a wheelbase of 2,500 mm and ground clearance of 205 mm.rnrn
New Renault Kiger 2021rnrnAs for the cabin, the new Renault KIGER will come with an 8-inch floating infotainment touchscreen display, a 7-inch digital control unit, climate control, engine start and stop, steering wheel-mounted controls, Arkamays 3D audio system, and wireless charging, 12v rear AC vents, two-tone paint scheme, fabric upholstery, and more. Kiger also has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The cabin also comes with a host of storage options that add up to 29.1 liters, and that includes storage in the center console which is just 9.1 liters. The trunk with all the seats is in the vertical position of 405 liters.
