New Delhi: Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd, the 100% subsidiary of Italian automobile giant Piaggio Group and maker of Vespa scooters and Aprilia sports scooters and motorcycles, has launched the limited edition Vespa 946 Dragon in India. The vehicle is priced at INR 14,27,999 (ex-showroom, India) and bookings are now open to all at Motoplex showrooms across India.
Launched globally as an exclusive collection to celebrate the Lunar New Year, the Vespa 946 Dragon is available in limited quantities, making it a true collector's edition.
This exclusive machine will be available in India as Completely Built Units (CBU). Bookings for the Vespa 946 Dragon can be made at any of Piaggio's Motoplex showrooms across India, the company said in a press release.
Vespa brings its distinctive Italian character to the road, harnessing the power of the dragon, a mythical creature of incomparable power and considered a harbinger of prosperity. Handcrafted in Italy and using the latest technology, the design of the Vespa 946 Dragon is a tribute to the union of cultures, innovation and sophistication, with a clear sense of energy and power associated with the dragon.
The 946 Dragon Edition features a special dragon decoration below the headlights and along its side profile in emerald tone. Powered by a 150 cc engine, it is equipped with a monocoque body and features a single front shock absorber. It rides on stylish 12-inch wheels and has 220mm disc brakes at the front.
The Vespa 946 Dragon comes accompanied with an exclusive Varsity Jacket, Vespa's inaugural fashion item that embodying the fierce spirit of the scooter and celebrates the brand's style and heritage. Inspired by the design of the Vespa 946 Dragon, the twill jacket with nappa sleeves features an emerald green dragon motif along with prints and embroidery on the left pocket and back panel.
