Triumph Scrambler 400 XC Teased Ahead of India Launch

Triumph Motorcycles has formally teased the Scrambler 400 XC ahead of its highly-anticipated Indian launch that will happen later this month. The Scrambler 400 XC is rumoured to be launched approximately ₹30,000 over the standard Scrambler 400X. The Triumph Scrambler 400 XC comes with several new upgrades and an adventure-ready design that intends to impress the biking community.

What Makes the Scrambler 400 XC Different?

The Triumph Scrambler 400 XC is really a more dirt, off-road orientated sibling to the Scrambler 400 X. Although both bikes share essentially the same mechanical components, the XC variant adds both features and functionality for tougher terrain.

Key Upgrades:

  • Tubeless cross-spoke wheels for added durability and easier repairs

  • Aluminium sump guard for robust engine protection

  • Upper and lower engine bars to improve off-road safety

  • Body-coloured beak fender and visor for added styling and function

These additions elevate both the look and off-road capability of the Scrambler 400 XC, making it a perfect companion for adventure enthusiasts.

New Design & Styling

One of the biggest highlights teased by Triumph is the bold yellow paint scheme. Along with unique speed-block graphics, the bike has a more aggressive, attention-getting look. With this new colourway, it's further differentiated from the standard Scrambler 400 X and lends itself to a tougher image.

Engine & Transmission

The Scrambler 400 XC has the same engine as the 400 X but offers more refinement and control.

  • Engine Type: Liquid-cooled, DOHC, single-cylinder

  • Displacement: 398.15cc

  • Power Output: 40 PS / 39.5 bhp @ 8,000 rpm

  • Torque: 37.5 Nm @ 6,500 rpm

  • Fuel System: Bosch EFI with electronic throttle

  • Transmission: 6-speed gearbox with wet, multi-plate clutch

  • Final Drive: X-ring chain

While the 400 X did not include a quickshifter, there is optimism Triumph will include it on the XC variant for more smoothness and sportiness.

Conclusion

With the launch of the Triumph Scrambler 400 XC, Indian riders can anticipate a motorcycle that pairs dependable performance with old-school British flair. Due to its dual-purpose design, off-road upgrades, aggressively styled redesign, and dependable engine package, it shows all of the pre-requisites of a contender in the middleweight scrambler category in India. For adventure-minded riders wanting a little bit more out of their ride, the Scrambler 400 XC is promising to be an exciting alternative.
