The Aprilia RS 457 is the Italian manufacturer's first motorcycle to be made in India. The price of this motorcycle equipped with a parallel twin-cylinder engine is Rs 4.10 lakh, ex-showroom. At this price, the bike offers great value, especially when considering its CBU competition, the Yamaha R3 and Kawasaki Ninja 500.
While Aprilia has ramped up production to meet growing demand for the RS 457, the question that lingers is how much does it cost to service the bike? Ultimately, buying a bike is just one part of owning it, while maintaining it is a different ball game. Autonexa has contacted an authorized Aprilia service center for details on the first service and the costs involved.
For the first service, which is to be conducted between 1,000 or 1,200 km, or between a month and a month and a half, whichever comes first, the cost is Rs 3,930. This includes engine oil which costs Rs 1,872, oil filter which costs Rs 1,184 and chain cleaner and lubricant which costs Rs 250 each. The rest of the money goes to consumables and taxes. Aprilia also suggests customers flush the engine and add an additive to improve engine health at a cost of Rs 1,200. However, this is optional.
