Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza outsells Hyundai Venue in first half of 2021

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, became the best-selling compact SUV in the country, with 60,183 units sold in the first half of 2021 (first half of 2021). In the same period, Hyundai sold 54,675 units in place to emerge as the second best-selling compact SUV in the first half of 2021. Compared to June 2020, sales of both models grew significantly by nearly 50 percent in June,2021. Nexon appeared as the third best-selling compact SUV in the country with sales of 46,247 units in the first half of 2021.

Mechanically, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is powered by a 1.5-litre K-class petrol engine that produces 103 bhp and a torque of 138 Nm. This engine has a five-speed manual transmission and an automatic transmission option with Smart Hybrid technology. Over the years, Maruti Suzuki has been known for its reliable product line, largest service network, and easy-to-maintain recipes.

Hyundai Venue is available with two petrol engine options and one diesel engine. Petrol engines consist of a 1.2-litre unit and a 1.0-litre turbocharged direct fuel injection (GDI) unit. The 1.2-litre engine produces 81 bhp and 114 Nm, while the GDI unit generates 118 bhp and 171 Nm torque. There is only a five-speed manual for the 1.2-litre engine, while the 1.0-litre engine can be equipped with six-speed manual, iMT or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic options. The 1.5-litre diesel engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission to produce 99 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 240 Nm of torque at 1,500 rpm. The wide range of engine options makes the Hyundai Venue a popular choice in the compact SUV segment.
