The Exter is the brand's entry-level SUV and carries the "Parametric Jewel" design language on the front grille and tailgate. For the first time, 'Exter' lettering appears at the front and the headlamp clusters are recessed into the bumper, while the H-shaped DRLs are positioned higher and flush with the bonnet.

The Exter has an upright stance, and roof rails combined with square arches and 15-inch alloy wheels give it an SUV look. As for its dimensions, the Exter measures 3815mm in length, 1710mm in width and 1631mm in height. In addition, the model's wheelbase is 2,450 mm, longer than any of its competitors.

While the Exter's cabin is similar to that of the Aura and Nios, there are a few new items. Exter gets a digital instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch MID and 12 customizable languages. Additionally, the interior follows an all-black theme along with a honeycomb pattern on the dashboard and a touch of contrast with the rounded AC vents.

The Hyundai Exter comes with a power sunroof, automatic climate control, a dash-mounted camera, connected car technology, cruise control, and an 8-inch touchscreen unit with connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also offered are some first-in-class features such as foot lighting, metal pedals, rear air vents with power port, gear lever and onboard navigation.

Hyundai Exter engine options

Exter uses the proven 1.2-liter petrol engine that also powers the Grand i10 Nios, Aura and Venue. It is tuned to produce 82hp and 114Nm of torque and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission and AMT unit. Moreover, the powertrain is also offered in the CNG variant along with the manual gearbox.
