Citroen C5 Aircross variants and features explained

With the launch of the Citroën C5 Aircoss SUV, the French automaker is preparing to officially enter the Indian auto market. The new C5 Aircross is expected to launch in March 2021, and will arrive in India as a full CKD or Completely Knocked Down model, and will be assembled at the company's production facilities in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. In fact, the company recently launched its first domestically assembled C5 Aircross and has started commercial production. The company has already published details on the variants, according to which the SUV will be offered in two trim versions: Feel and Shine.rnrnNow, the SUV is only offered with a 2.0-liter diesel engine, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard. This means that there will only be the two aforementioned designs to choose from, and interestingly, save for a few features, the rest are standard offerings on the Feel and Shine variants.rn

Citroen C5 Aircross: External features

rn rnrnCitroen C5 Exterior Citroen C5 ExteriorrnrnIn terms of style additions, the Citroen C5 AirCross comes with a matte black front grille with the brand logos painted in chrome. The SUV also has a side body trim and wheel arch along with a Citroen color package, which includes the front bumper/side air stops and roof rails, which are treated in anodized silver or with dark red anodized additions according to the body color. We also see a compact spoiler, dual exhaust, and a chrome C signature on the satin chrome window.rnrnIn terms of features, the Feel variants of the SUV get an 18-inch two-tone "SWIRL" wheelset, halogen headlights, LED daytime running lights, 3D LED taillights, LED turn signals on the ORVM, and front fog lamps with cornering function, rear fog lights, and LED brake light as standard. As for the Shine trim, it only contains the LED vision projector headlights and a panoramic sunroof.rn

rn rnrnCitroen C5 Aircross Interior Citroen C5 Aircross InteriorrnrnBoth models come with a cabin in Metropolitan Grey, with a choice of two trim edges: grey grain leather and graphite fabric with advanced comfort seats in terms of features, the Citroën C5 Aircross has a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel with tilt and adjustments. The SUV also has dual-zone climate control, alloy pedals, sculpted chrome trim panels, and satin chrome trim for the interior door handle. Both options also have an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a mirror display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, along with a 6-speaker audio system.rnThe cabin also features a customizable 12.3-inch TFT display with gear shift indicator, LED welcome headlight and dual LED headlights, rear reading lights, trunk lights, and an illuminated glove compartment, as standard.rn

Citroen C5 Aircross: Safety and security features

rnAll safety features are standard on Feel and Shine versions, including 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist, Traction Control, and Point Information System blind (BLIS). The SUV also has an electric parking brake, front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, ISOFIX mounts, automatic collision door unlock, an electric tailgate with a child lock, and environmental/volumetric alarm.rn

Citroen C5 Aircross: Comfort and convenience features

rnMost of the amenities on offer are standard for both types. Features include engine start/stop function, Park Assist Package, Citroen Advanced Comfort Suspension with hydraulic progressive bags, dual-layer front windows, and soundproof windshields. The SUV also has an electrically adjustable driver's seat and a height-adjustable passenger seat, with lumbar support for both. The automaker also offers adjustable rear seats with three-point seat belts for all three occupants, and the two outside passengers will also receive pre-tensioners and force limiters. The cab also features a front console armrest with illuminated cup holders, keyless entry with smart key, power button, and rear air conditioning vents. And the higher-spec Shine hood has the hands-free power liftgate feature.rnOther advanced features include Air Quality System (AQS) with pollen filter plus activated carbon filter plus active odor filter, cruise control with speed limiter and memory settings, one-touch power windows up and down with remote switch, ORVM electrically adjustable and foldable. The list also includes a pool lamp, automatic headlights with Follow Me Home function, rain-sensing wipers, rear wash/wipe, rear defroster, electric IRVM, tire pressure monitoring system, 2 USB, and 2 12-volt outlets. Citroën C5 Aircross also comes with two driving modes: Eco and Sport, along with Grip Control for Standard, Snow, All Terrain, Sand, and traction control off function.rn
