2023 Skoda Kodiaq Launched Starting At Rs. 37.99 Lakh; More Units To Be Allocated For India

Skoda Auto India has announced that it has received an increased allocation for the Kodiaq 4x4. The Czech carmaker says it has seen growing demand for its flagship SUV, which has prompted the company to increase the number of units dedicated to India to 750 SUVs per quarter. This means that the company intends to sell 3,000 units of the Skoda Kodiaq in one year. The 2023 model year Skoda Kodiaq continues to be offered in three variants - Style, Sportline and L&K and is priced at Rs. 37.99 lakhs to Rs. 41.39 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). Compared to earlier, the prices have increased to Rs. 1.40 lakhs.

The SUV is powered by a 2.0-liter TSI EVO engine. The powertrain is now adapted to meet the new BS6-B emissions standards, which means it is RDE (Real Driving Emissions) compliant and can run on fuel that comes with a 20 percent ethanol blend. In fact, the company claims that Kodiaq is now 4.2% more efficient than before. The engine continues to produce 188 bhp and 320 Nm of torque, while it is mated to a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.

Petr Šolc, Brand Director, Skoda Auto India, said: “The Kodiaq was our first foray into the world of full-size SUVs and it has been an outstanding success both internationally and in India. Although it is luxurious, this is a great value luxury SUV which has been in high demand by Indian consumers due to the complete off-road luxury package it offers to the family. The increased personalization will ensure that more SUV customers who demand the best in safety, luxury and off-road value can now enjoy the Kodiaq.”

Visually, the 2023 Kodiaq model year remains unchanged, but Skoda has made some additions to the feature list. The SUV now comes with door edge guards and the rear spoiler has additional panels to smooth airflow and improve the aerodynamics of this luxury 4x4. Inside the cabin, rear passengers are offered a step-down lounge with outboard headrests for second-row passengers for added comfort. The rest of the bits remain unchanged.

Each trim comes with special 18-inch alloy wheels, and while the high-end Laurin & Klement variant gets stone beige leather upholstery, the Sportline version comes with all-black suedia interiors. Depending on the trim you choose, you get features like 12-way power front seats with integrated heating and cooling, a three- or two-spoke steering wheel, and an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. And charge the phone wirelessly. While the Style version has an 8-inch instrument cluster, the other two versions come with a 10.25-inch virtual cockpit with digital dials and a digital console with multiple themes to suit the driver's needs.
