It has been a while since BMW Motorrad had a competitor in the mid-weight naked category. The Bavarian manufacturer discontinued F 800 R in 2009 and managed to remain absent from this sector for almost ten years. At EICMA 2019 BMW revealed its competitor in the sector: F 900 R.
The 895cc parallel engine of the 2020 BMW F900R produces 105 horsepower and 92 Nm. By comparison, the 790 Duke and Triumph Street Triple S have almost the same horsepower but are low in torque division.
There is no way to set the front fork in US dollars, but you can get an electronically adjustable rear mono-shock unit by choosing the professional variable. It allows the driver to adjust bounce and preload settings without the need for special tools.
Medium-weight naked is expected to arrive in India in mid-2020, May 2020 at a price of around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom India).
