Tata Curvv India launch on August 7

Tata Motors has confirmed the debut of the Curvv SUV-coupe in India on August 7. The Curvv, India's first SUV-coupe, will offer a different option to midsize SUVs in the market.

Curvv aims to compete with Creta, Seltos, and Grand Vitara.

The Tata Curvv takes its design cues from the Nexon. Tata's signature split-LED headlamps, multi-faceted black cladding on both sides, split taillights, and a unique coupe-like roof will be featured. It is probable that the EV and ICE models will have distinct bumpers and signature LED lights. The Curvv will have a 313mm longer length compared to the Nexon, and a wheelbase that is 62mm longer.

The Curvv will be equipped with the illuminated steering wheel with four spokes taken from the Harrier and Safari. The 10.25-inch display for the instrument cluster and digital phone will be retained, however, the EV may have unique modifications and extra features, similar to what the Nexon EV offers compared to the standard Nexon. Additional notable features will consist of a wireless charging system, a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, smart car capabilities, and a panoramic sunroof.

The Tata Curvv is getting a new 125hp, 1.2-liter, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that will be paired with both manual and automatic transmissions. At the same time, the electric motor will be powered by the 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine of the Nexon. The electric model will be based on Tata's Gen 2 acti.ev platform, and will have the capability to offer a 450-500km range when specifications differ.

Tata Curvv considers the cost, competitors.

Tata is set to introduce the Curvv EV initially, priced at Rs 20 lakh. This will position it higher than the Nexon EV and lower than the upcoming Harrier EV. The ICE release will come out at a later time and The cost is estimated to be between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 11 lakh. The Curvv EV will rival the Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti eVX, and MG ZS EV, while the ICE will rival midsize SUVs such as the Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Hyundai Creta.
