The Skoda Slavia mid-size sedan was officially launched on Monday with the model with the 1.0-litre TSI engine starting at ₹10.69 lakh and rising to going up to ₹15.39 lakh for the top model variant with AT and sunroof. The Slavia is the second model, after the Koshak, to be based on the ŠKODA MQB platform and is looking at revitalizing the sedan space in the country.
While there's a more powerful 1.5-liter engine with DSG also scheduled for launch on Thursday, the sedan overall is making some very bold promises.

Slavia variants, engine and transmission choices:
Skoda Slavia is offered in three broad variants: Active, Ambition and Style. The 1.0-litre petrol engine is standard on all three variants, while the 1.5-litre is only available with the top model.
In terms of transmission options, the 1.0-liter engine comes mated to either a manual or AT unit. The 1.5 liter engine is paired with manual or DSG unit.
In terms of specifications, the 1.0-liter engine makes 113 horsepower and delivers 175 Nm of torque. The more powerful 1.5-liter engine produces 148 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.

There are various color options available on the Skoda Slavia. These include bright silver, carbon steel, crystal blue, tornado red, and candy white.
Depending on the variant selected, the sedan comes with LED headlights with L-shaped daytime running lights, a chrome-framed hexagonal front grille, 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, chrome accents on the door handles, and a sunroof with anti-pressure technology.
Slavia cabin highlights:
Again, depending on the variant, the Slavia offers a number of feature options for the owner. The list includes a 10-inch infotainment display with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Skoda Connect app compatibility, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, 8-inch all-digital display, multiple Type-C charging points, refrigerated glove box, multiple speakers Subwoofers and subwoofers.

The Slavia measures 4,541 mm long, 1,752 mm in width, 1487 mm in height. The sedan has a 2,651mm wheelbase and a remarkably large trunk at 521 litres.

Slavia rivals:
The Skoda Slavia is India's first exclusive car and will go up against Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. Skoda emphasizes the vehicle's excellent ratings and seeks to sell around 3,000 units of the sedan each month.
