New Delhi: Royal Enfield has unveiled its newest motorcycle, the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450, at an event in Barcelona. The motorcycle, which is based on the Himalayan 450 platform, comes in three variants with prices starting at INR 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom). The Guerrilla 450 is set to enter the competitive mid-sized motorcycle segment, and will compete with rivals such as the Harley-Davidson X440, Triumph Speed 400, Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 and Hero Mavrick 440.
The Guerrilla 450, sharing the robust Sherpa 450 cc engine with the Himalayan 450, the Guerrilla 450 offers three variants: Analogue, Dash and Flash. Their prices are INR 2.39 lakh, INR 2.49 lakh and INR 2.54 lakh respectively, all ex-showroom.
The Guerrilla 450 marks Royal Enfield's debut in the sub-500cc naked motorcycle segment. Officially launched in Barcelona, Spain, bookings for the motorcycle are now open and will soon be available in Royal Enfield showrooms across the country.
The motorcycle's design follows a modern roadster aesthetic. Key features include a round headlight, a stylish teardrop-shaped fuel tank and a simple tail section. The frame is made of steel and a tubular frame, complemented by a 43mm telescopic front fork with 140mm travel and a monoshock rear configuration with 150mm travel.
There are five color options available across the three variants. The analogue comes in smoke and black plaid. The Dash variant is available in Playa Black and Gold Dip, while the Flash variant can be optioned in Yellow Ribbon and Brava Blue.
The Guerrilla 450 is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels and 120/70 section front tyres and 160/60 section rear tyres, providing stable handling. Braking is handled by a 310mm ventilated disc with dual-piston caliper at the front and a 270mm ventilated disc with single-piston caliper at the rear, ensuring reliable stopping power.
In terms of dimensions and technology, the motorcycle is 2,090 mm long, 833 mm wide, and 1,125 mm high, with a wheelbase of 1,440 mm. It weighs 186 kg, including fuel and oil. Features include LED headlights, turn signals and taillights. A 4.0-inch round TFT display offers smartphone connectivity, Google Maps navigation, multimedia controls, dual-channel ABS, and a USB Type-C port.
The Guerrilla 450 is powered by a 452 cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder engine, delivering 40.02 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 40 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. It includes a 6-speed gearbox and slip assist clutch for a smooth driving experience.
Building on the success of the Himalayan platform, Royal Enfield's new Guerrilla 450 aims to woo users with its combination of modern features and powerful performance.
