Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that it is working on a new premium MPV that will be launched in India in the next couple of months. This model will be based on the Innova Hycross and will become the first rebadged Toyota sold by Maruti in India.
Maruti premium MPV engine and specifications
Based on the available details, we understand that Maruti's Hycross derivative will be powered by the hybrid version only, unlike the Innova, which has both petrol and hybrid versions. The 2.0-liter petrol engine is paired with an electric motor, with the former producing 172 PS and 188 Nm, while the latter develops an additional 11 PS and 206 Nm. The e-CVT unit is the only transmission available.
Maruti Innova Hycross version design and revisions
Like previous vehicles in the Maruti-Toyota joint venture, we expect the premium MPV to get a revised fascia, new grille, new front and rear bumpers, and revised set of headlights and taillights. A new set of alloy wheels can also be offered.

In the features department, the Innova Hycross-based Maruti Premium MPV can get a panoramic sunroof, ADAS technology (a first for a Maruti in India), ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, second-row power ottomans, power tailgate, infotainment system. and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment, automatic climate control, all LED lighting, six airbags, and TPMS.
