Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR is all set to be launched in India soon! Although Kawasaki has taken a long time to bring the motorcycle to our market, the imminent launch will have supersport motorcycle fans, especially of Team Green, reason to rejoice.
The Ninja ZX-4RR is an out and out supersport and what makes it so special is its engine. It is a 399 cc, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 76 HP at 14,000 rpm and 37.6 Nm at 12,000 rpm. But the most striking statistic is that this engine spins up to 16,000 rpm! This is an proper screamer and one can imagine the sound it will make. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and it has a bi-directional quickshifter and slipper clutch as standard.
As for the ZX-4RR's hardware, the bike employs a steel trellis frame suspended by a 37Nm adjustable Showa SFF-BP front fork and a gas-charged monoshock that can be adjusted for compression, rebound and preload. Braking duties are handled by twin 290mm discs at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear. The bike tips that scales at 189kg (kerb).
Moving on to the features of the bike, it features all-LED headlights, four ride modes (Sports, Road, Rain, Rider), two power modes, and a three-step traction control system. One can adjust the settings of the above mentioned systems using the 4.3-inch TFT instrument cluster.
The design of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR will also be one of its big attractions. It shares its styling cues with the ZX-25R and looks very aggressive. The dual LED headlights, the air intake above, the shape of the fairings and the tail section are what make the ZX-4RR look good, not to mention the KRT green color that will make it difficult to pass on our streets or in the race track.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR will be brought to India only in limited quantities and some Kawasaki dealers have already started accepting bookings. As for the price, expect it to cost around Rs 1 lakh more than the Ninja ZX-4R, which is priced at Rs 8.49 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
