Honda First Electric Motorcycle E-VO Unveiled in China

Honda has finally made a significant move in the world of electric mobility with the launch of its first-ever electric motorcycle, the Honda E-VO, in China. This marks a new chapter for the Japanese auto giant as it sets its sights on a cleaner, greener future. Co-developed with Chinese partner Guangzhou under the Wuyang-Honda joint venture, the E-VO is a fusion of retro-inspired design and cutting-edge EV technology.

E-VO: Honda’s First Step into Electric Motorcycling

The Honda First Electric Motorcycle E-VO is more than just a bike—it’s a statement. While Honda has already explored electric scooters, the E-VO takes things a notch higher by stepping into the electric motorcycle category.

Design and Aesthetics

  • The E-VO carries a striking neo-retro cafe racer design.

  • It features a round LED headlamp, a flyscreen, and a seamless closed fairing.

  • Built on a newly developed forged aluminium frame that balances strength with lightweight efficiency.

Buyers can choose from two battery pack options:

  • 4.1kWh Dual Battery Pack

    • Claimed range: 120 km (WMTC)

Currently, the Honda E-VO is expected to remain exclusive to the Chinese market. However, given the rising demand for electric motorcycles worldwide, a global rollout could be in the pipeline.

Will the Honda E-VO Launch in India?

This is the big question on every enthusiast’s mind. Honda has already shown serious interest in India's growing electric two-wheeler market. While the Honda First Electric Motorcycle E-VO is currently China-exclusive, a localized version could arrive in India in the future—especially if there's strong consumer demand for electric motorcycles with sporty styling and smart tech.

If Honda brings a made-for-India version of the E-VO, with a competitive price and charging infrastructure, it could be a game-changer for the brand in the electric two-wheeler segment here.
