Honda CBR650R design patented in India

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India have now patented the CBR650R design in India. The registration document has now been leaked online and here is what we know about the Japanese sports bike.

The 2024 Honda CBR650R was unveiled last year in the international market and the bike received a few changes. Its design is made to appear sharper and more aerodynamic than before. The split LED headlight is topped with a clear visor. The bike has sporty features, including clip-on handlebars, rear footrests and a split seat.

The 2024 Honda CBR650R is powered by a 649cc four-cylinder engine that produces 94 HP and 62.3 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox. On the electronics front, the CBR features full LED lighting, traction control, ABS and a TFT display with smartphone connectivity.

Its hardware too is fairly premium. The list comprises 41mm Showa Separate Function- Big Piston front forks and a 10-step adjustable rear shock. Its braking hardware includes two 310mm front discs and a single 240mm rear unit. These are mounted on 17-inch wheels wrapped in 120/70 front and 180/55 rear tyres.

Honda has currently only registered the design patent of the CBR650R. We think it could be launched in India this year. But it won’t be a surprise if the bike didn't debut here and get a patent.
