Hero MotoCorp launches new edition of Splendor motorcycle

In India, the name Splendor has a strong emotional resonance. Countless families across the country have owned a Splendor for generations. This is due to the fact that the bike checks all of the boxes for practically every Indian middle-class family. It has been on the market for nearly three decades and continues to draw significant volumes.

A new Splendor plus XTEC model has been added to the Hero Splendor lineup. The new model was teased on Thursday by the Indian two-wheeler maker Hero Motocorp, and it has surprisingly been appeared in the Indian market, for a price of Rs. 72,900!

The new Hero Splendor plus XTEC comes with several extra features, including a full-digital instrument console. Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, call/SMS alert, low fuel indicator, and RTMI are all included in the system (Real Time Mileage Indicator). A USB charging port and an LED DRL have also been added. The additional features will enable the motorcycle compete with more technologically advanced competition while keeping its core.

Aside from that, the new Hero Splendor plus XTEC comes in four colour schemes: Sparkling Beta Blue, Canvas Black, Tornado Grey, and Pearl White, all of which have new body artwork. The motorcycle hasn't been altered in any way. The alloy wheels, handlebar, seat, tailpiece (with integrated carrier), and other features are identical to those found on the other models.

A 97.2cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine powers the Hero Splendor plus XTEC. This petrol engine produces the same peak power of 8.02 PS (at 8,000rpm) and maximum torque of 8.05 Nm (at 6,000rpm) as the other Splendor Plus models, and it is mated to a 4-speed sequential transmission.

The motorcycle comes equipped with both a Kickstarter and a self-start system as standard. It also comes with a bank angle engine cutoff and a side-stand engine cutoff for added safety.

"Hero Splendor Plus is the most popular and best-selling motorcycle in India, a genuine companion to millions across India," stated Malo Le Masson, Head of Strategy and Global Product Planning, Hero MotoCorp. With the advent of the Splendor+ XTEC model, which adds technologically enhanced features and a clever modern appearance, it has been an icon for almost three decades and will continue to inspire many."

In India, the Hero Splendor Plus is offered in three different varieties, including the new XTEC model. The base model costs Rs. 69,380 and comes with drum brakes, self-start, and alloy wheels. The 'i3S' model costs Rs. 70,700 (ex-Showroom,Delhi), while the top-of-the-line 'Matt Shield Gold Edition' costs Rs. 71,700 (ex-Showroom,Delhi)
