Ducati India has launched a new black color option on the Panigale V2 supersport. This is, essentially the Panigale V2 draped in gloss black paint with contrasting red coloured stickerting on the fairing and fuel tank. The black alloy wheels have a red rim stripe, but it only covers half the circumference of the car and looks pretty neat.
This new black color looks sinister and complements the design of the V2. It should also appeal to those who find the Ducati Red too loud for their tastes. However, at Rs 20.98 lakh for the Panigale V2 in this black colour, you will pay Rs 30 lakh for the same bike in Ducati red.
The Ducati Panigale V2 is a powerful super sports car, powered by a 955 cc liquid-cooled L-twin engine that generates 155 HP at 10,750 rpm and 104 Nm at 9,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The bike is loaded with electronics, including riding modes, power modes, cornering ABS, traction control, engine brake control, and more.
Under the pretty bodywork is an aluminum monocoque frame, with a fully adjustable 43mm Showa USD fork and a fully adjustable Sachs monoshock. The bike rides on 17-inch wheels fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II tyres. Braking duties are taken care of by twin 320mm discs with Brembo Monobloc M 4.32 calipers at the front and a 245mm disc at the rear.
The Ducati Panigale V2 is more expensive than a one-litre bike like the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R (Rs 16.79 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi) which produces 200 PS and is very close to the BMW S 1000 RR, that has a starting price of Rs 20.75 lakh.
