Mahindra Centuro and Bajaj Discover 125 are two of the most popular bikes in the automobile market. This comparison has been carried out on the basis of prices, engine specifications, mileage, and features of these two-wheelers. Apart from these, the comparison of these bikes has also been made with respect to the displacement, performance, and many other parameters.
In technical specifications, Bajaj Discover 125 2018 is powered by 124.5 cc engine whereas Mahindra Centuro is powered by 106.7 cc engine. It is a well-welcome change in the bland 110cc segment. The motorcycle looks and feels premium and is actually at par with the products in the 125cc segment. The trapezoidal headlamp, sculpted tank, contemporary graphics and well-designed grab rail make it standout in the crowd. The newly launched Discover 125 is a refreshed version of the existing Discover 125, not like that of the Discover 110. It gets the latest graphics, an innovative tail lamp, and the latest seat. It also gets a digital instrument cluster that has an analog tachometer. The information displayed in the backlit digital section are the speed and fuel level.
The Centuro is powered by 106.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that chu
s out 8.5PS and 8.5Nm. The ergonomics are well sorted; the riding position is nice and the rear seat is big, wide and more comfortable than that of most other bikes in the segment. Discover, on the other hand, has a 124cc single cylinder that generates 10.8bhp and 11Nm but the four-speed gearbox feels a little notchy and there are some vibrations at the pillion’s footpeg between 4000rpm and 4500rpm.
As we compare the bikes, we find major differences in length (Bajaj Discover 125 length is greater than Centuro which provides a comfortable ride for both the passengers). The width of both products is almost the same - 780 mm for one and 760 mm for the other one. If you are short, then riding Centuro will be more comfortable for you and the wheelbase should not be considered a factor here. When we talk about weight, Discover is heavier in comparison to Centuro.
Bajaj Discover 125 2018 Price starts from Rs. 54,669 and Mahindra Centuro Price starts from Rs. 43,250. The claimed mileage for the former is 82.4 kmpl and for the latter is 85.4 kmpl. While the first one is available in 7 different colours, the second one comes with 4 colours. The Discover model is available in black, red or blue. It competes with the likes of the Hero Glamour, Honda CB Shine and Bajaj V12.

Verdict: The Mahindra Centuro has a lot to offer against the Discover 125. The bike is more affordable with the fully loaded version available at Rs 45,000. Personally, I think the Centuro is more than an option in the 110cc commuter segment; it ticks all the boxes on looks and features and has acceptable levels of performance. The only thing that is not in favor of the bike is the test of time!
