The highly awaited Bajaj CNG bike is all set to be unveiled on 5 July. This is the world's first CNG production motorcycle. The bike is likely to be called Bajaj Bruzer and is expected to be launched in two variants.
The bike has been spotted testing several times and the images reveal some details about the bike. The design mixes form and function quite effectively. This is evident from the shape of the fuel tank, the long seat and the minimal body panels all around.
The blueprints of the Bajaj CNG bike revealed the unique chassis setup of the bike. Bajaj was managed to optimise space by placing the CNG tank along the length of the bike and using a ‘sloper’ engine design. A small petrol tank is also present to offer extra range and serve as a backup, should one run out of CNG.
The engine specifications of the engine are still under wraps, but there are rumors that it could be a 125cc commuter engine. The engine will be paired with a five-speed gearbox.
Bajaj is also likely to launch the CNG-powered bike in two variants, one for urban areas and a more rugged version for rural India. The latter will have a sump guard, a knuckle protector and a handlebar mount so that it can withstand knocks while riding on poor or even non-existent terrain.
Bajaj may also reveal the price of the CNG-powered bike at its launch event. The bike is expected to be priced around Rs 80,000 ex-showroom.
