Ather Rizta launched at Rs 1.09 lakh. Here's what's special about this family scooter

Ather Energy, India's leading electric scooter manufacturer, unveiled its latest family scooter, Rizta, during Ather Community Day in Bengaluru. Priced at INR 1,09,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), the Rizta aims to cater to the needs of the entire family. Tarun Mehta, co-founder and CEO of Ather Energy, expressed his optimism about the Rizta, stating: “This could be a much bigger story than 450 for Ather.”

The Rizta has been designed with a focus on comfort, convenience and safety, offering new connected features such as SkidControl and WhatsApp integration into the dashboard. It will be available in two models: Rizta S and Rizta Z. The Rizta Z model comes with a larger capacity 3.7 kWh battery. The Rizta S is priced at INR 124,999 and the Rizta Z is priced at INR 144,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru). Rizta bookings are open now and deliveries will begin in June 2024.

Compared to the previous Ather model, the 450, the Rizta has a base price of INR 5,000 lower. The Rizta will be offered in a variety of colors, including monotone and two-tone options. The scooter promises a range of up to 123 km for the 2.9 kWh variant and 160 km for the 3.7 kWh variant, providing enough distance for daily commuting.

Ather Energy aims to redefine the family scooter segment with the Rizta, focusing on core elements like comfort, safety and connected technology. “Rizta will reflect the quality, reliability and safety offerings of Ather,” emphasized Tarun Mehta.

Additionally, the scooter comes with a multi-purpose under-seat charger, which allows you to charge electronic devices on the go.

The Rizta's safety features include SkidControl™, a traction control system designed to improve grip on varying road surfaces. The scooter also includes features like FallSafeTM, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Theft and Towing Detection and Find My Scooter for added safety. The Rizta offers two driving modes: Zip and SmartEco, along with ride assist features from the previous 450 series.

Ather also introduced the Ather HALO smart helmet, featuring premium sound by Harman Kardon and innovative technologies such as Auto WearDetect for seamless pairing with the scooter.
