Ather Halo smart helmet series launched; prices start from Rs. 4,999

Ather Energy has launched its new series of smart helmets called Halo. It is available in half-face and full-face variants that are priced at Rs. 4999 and Rs. 12,999 respectively.

Ather Energy has built the Halo, including the interior padding, shell and other features, from the ground up. These helmets are ISI and DOT certified and feature thoughtfully integrated vents and a visor without the traditional ratchet mechanism to help riders hang them at any level they desire. It gets two speakers from Harman Kardon hidden behind interior liners designed to provide a music listening experience that doesn't block out ambient sounds such as an ambulance or other motorists. Once connected to the smartphone, it also allows the user to receive calls.

The Halo connects to Ather scooters via Bluetooth and allows the rider to control music and take calls on the Switch. Interestingly, with the help of multiple sensors inside the helmet, it automatically connects with the user's smartphone after wearing it. The charging mechanism includes a wireless module and the battery backup is said to last a week, but the backup number per hour has not been revealed. The helmet can also be charged inside the new Rizta’s boot through the same wireless charger.

These helmets are equipped with a new feature called Ather Chitchat which allows the pilot and passenger, who are supposed to be wearing either type of Halo helmet, to communicate with each other during flight through the speaker and microphone built into the helmet. This promises to eliminate the discomfort caused by ambient noise while driving. Both driver and passenger can also listen to the same music together.
