Yamaha has launched the 2023 edition of its hugely popular new retro offering, the XSR 155, in Indonesia. While the bike remains mechanically unchanged, the new shades add a bit of visual freshness to the bike.
Four new colors for the 2023 XSR155 include Metallic Red Authentic, Light Blue Wanderlust, Black Metallic, and Elegance Matte Silver. While the blue and red colors are adorned with a new set of decals, the silver and black color schemes just boast the "Yamaha" badge on the fuel tank. The black version, in particular, really stands out with the upside-down gold tips on the front, while the rest of the colors include black US dollars.
The overall bodywork of the XSR155 remains intact, retaining a round headlight, loose console, teardrop fuel tank, one-piece seat with a ribbed pattern, and a simple floating tail. The bike is powered by a liquid-cooled, VVA-equipped, R15-derived 155cc engine producing 19PS and 14.7Nm and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Additionally, the list of features includes an LED headlight and taillight, a blue backlit LCD console, an auxiliary handle and a cigarette lighter.
Unfortunately, the Yamaha XSR155 isn't likely to make its way to India anytime soon, despite its huge popularity on our shores. However, for those who want a modern looking bike based on the same platform as the XSR, Yamaha sells the R15 V4 and MT 15 V2 in India.
