2021 Yamaha YZF-R15 V4.0 And R15M Launched In India, Prices Start At ₹ 1.68 Lakh

Yamaha Motor India launched the YZF-R15 V4.0 engine in the country, leading to a series of updates to the full motorcycle. The 2021 Yamaha R15 V4.0 is priced from 1.68 lakh to 1.72 lakh depending on the color option, while the more track-focused R15M will cost you 1.78 lakh (all prices are Delhi ex-showroom). The R15 V4.0 is just three years since V3.0 arrived in 2018, and the company has brought a new design language, new features, and even a new sporty version of the R15M to join the lineup. Online reservations for the new R15 set begin today, while deliveries will begin in late September.rnrnThe 2021 Yamaha YZF-R15 V4.0 and R15M have plenty of first-in-class features. The R15 V4.0 is available in three colors: Racing Blue, Dark Knight, and Metallic Red. The R15M is offered in two special paint versions: Metallic Gray and Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition.rnrnThe big update is the new design language of the 2021 R15 range. The bike borrows style cues from the new R7 that debuted globally in May this year, making the 155cc models compatible with the brand's R-DNA. In particular, the bike has a new dual-function D-segment headlight with a new M-shaped intake channel in the center and can be seen on the M1 in MotoGP. The headlights are surrounded by LED DRLs on both sides. The update also includes a new body and tail section on the motorcycle.rnrnYamaha YZF-R15 Yamaha YZF-R15rnrnYamaha also modified the suspension setup on the 2021 R15 V4.0 with included US dollar front forks. The units replace the telescopic forks seen in V3.0. The 37mm forks have a lighter lower end (no suspension), while the thicker outer tubes (springs) are bolted to the upper end of the chassis for added stiffness. Yamaha says the new chassis provides more stability during braking while improving comfort and cornering performance.rnrnTo accommodate the new front suspension, the bike receives a new triple top buckle (the handlebar crown) with rib shapes that contribute to a balance of strength and stiffness, similar to the M1. The new R15 now also comes with traction control, along with a standard quick-change transmission in the R15 V4 Racing Blue and R15M colorways. It operates at speeds above 20 km / h or when the motorcycle exceeds 2000 rpm and is accelerating. The model also has a slipper, an auxiliary handle, and a dual-channel ABS.rnrnThe 2021 YZF-R15 and R15M continue to draw power from the liquid-cooled SOHC 155cc four-valve four-valve engine producing 18.1 horsepower at 10,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. Power is just below V3.0, while torque is 0.1Nm. The fuel injection engine with variable valve operation (VVA) is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The bike has a curb weight of 142 kg.rnrnMeanwhile, the R15M is distinguished by its special seats, a 3D logo, and new ByBre brake calipers. Both bikes come with a new LCD console with Bluetooth connectivity. There is also a new information/trip button on the right side of the steering stem that allows access to different visual modes: track and street. Yamaha also claims a drag coefficient of less than 0.293 cd on the new R15 range.rnrnAlso Read: Hero MotoCorp working to launch retro-style Harley-Davidson model
