2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio Launched In India At Rs 4.99 Lakh - Autonexa

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio 2021 was officially launched in the Indian car market on Tuesday with a starting price of ₹4.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The price of the car goes up to ₹6.94 lakh (ex-showroom). The latest Maruti Suzuki Celerio gets several design changes on the exterior and now sports a better-equipped cabin with several updates to look forward to.

But more important, perhaps, is the claim that the 2021 Celerio has a certified mileage of 26.68 kmpl.

Celerio was first launched in India in 2014 and has been a solid performer for Maruti Suzuki ever since, with 5.9 lakh units being sold in the past seven years. The latest Celerio seeks to build on the success at a time when the Indian car-buying public has shown a preference for smaller vehicles. While Maruti Suzuki is specifically targeting a younger audience with the latest Celerio, the same car may again appeal to a wide range of buyers.

Speaking about the launch of the new Celerio, Kenichi Ayokawa, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said that the Indian auto industry has undergone an unprecedented transformation due to the pandemic that has given a special boost to the need for personal mobility. India is primarily a market for small cars, with about 46 percent of total passenger car sales contributing to hatchbacks.

"With the all-new Celerio, we seek to enhance the most important segment of passenger cars in the country. The all-new Celerio sets all customer expectations with an unmatched driving experience, unmatched fuel efficiency, and a feature set that provides convenience, convenience, and safety at an attractive price, the first generation of Celerio introduced and democratized the Auto Gear Shift (AGS) two-pedal technology," he further added.

The profile of the car also comes in a completely different way compared to the previous model. The vehicle runs on a new 15-inch alloy wheel design. Sculpted wheel arches can also be seen on the Celerio. Moving to the rear, the car has a body-colored rear bumper, aerodynamic taillights, and a curved tailgate.
