Volkswagen Taigun accumulates 12,221 bookings ahead of launch

The Taigun is one of the most anticipated launches of the year and strong sales figures indicate strong demand for the new model. The SUV was offered domestically at an initial introductory price of Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The car is available in Dynamic Line and Performance Line options. Dynamic Line offers three variants: Comfortline, Highline, and Topline, while Performance Line is available in two variants: GT and GT Plus.rnrn Volkswagen TaigunrnrnMechanically, the new Taigun is available in two petrol engine options. The 1.0-liter TSI engine generates 114bhp at 5000-5500 rpm and 178 Nm of torque at 1750-4500 rpm. This engine is available in six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission options. The 1.5TSI EVO engine generates 148bhp between 5000-6000 rpm and 250 Nm of torque between 1600-3500 rpm. This engine comes paired with six- and seven-speed manual transmission options. In addition, the 1.5-liter TSI EVO is equipped with Active Cylinder (ACT) and Idle Start / Stop technology.rnrnThe newly launched Volkswagen Taigun is based on the new MQB A0 IN platform from the India 2.0 project with a 95 percent localization level.
