Volkswagen begins production of Taigun : The Mid-Size SUVrnrnIndia's Volkswagen Motors on Wednesday announced the start of production of its first product under the India 2.0 project , mid-size SUV, Taigun . The company also began the pre-booking of the new SUV.rnrnThe company said in a statement that the first Taigun, built on the MQB A0 IN platform, took off from the Chakan plant in Pune on Tuesday.rnrnWith deliveries starting in September, he said, all customers can now pre-book Taigun on VW's online and offline retail platforms.rnrnThe Managing Director of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd said , Gurpratap Boparai, “Today we embarked on a journey that marks an important milestone for Volkswagen, with the start of production of the Taigun." The Taigun will achieve a localization level of up to 95 percent and retain German engineering prowess.rnrnThe German car group Volkswagen announced under the India 2.0 project that in it would invest 1 billion euros (about 7,900 crore) between 2019 and 2021 as part of its strategy to strengthen its presence in the country, under the India 2.0 project, Skoda Auto.rnrnAccording to the plan, Skoda Auto was expected to establish an engineering design and development center in Pune, as well as increase production capacity at the group's two plants in Aurangabad and Pune.rnrn Volkswagen Taigun InteriorrnrnThe Volkswagen SUV will have the world-renowned TSI technology and will be available with two engine options: 1.0L and 1.5L.rnrnThe company said,Volkswagen will now offer its TSI technology across its product line-up, offering customers the right mix of power and performance.rnrn“With the start of production and reservations, we are very excited to bring the Taigun to the Indian market soon.
