Tata Tigor EV Electric Sedan to be launched in India by Tata Motors. The car will come with an enhanced driving range of 213 km on a single charge and certified by ARAI (Automotive Research arch Association of India) as well as low-cost ownership.
The all-new Tigor EV will be available across 30 cities of India with a starting price of Rs. 9.44 lakh approximately. This is the ex-showroom Delhi price after deducting the Govt. subsidies. The vehicle has qualified for a FAME II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles in India) incentive for the eligible commercial car owners.
The Tata Tigor EV electric sedan will have two driving modes - Drive and Sport.
The Tigor EV has been recently subjected to a price reduction after the Gove
ment had reduced the GST for electric vehicles from 12 percent to 5 percent. The car will come with an inbuilt warranty of 3 years or 1.25 lakh km, whichever comes earlier. The car will be available for normal as well as for fleet customers.
Mr. Ashesh Dhar, the Head of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service, Electric Vehicle Business in Tata Motors Ltd. had said in a statement that "This version is upgraded and it builds on the success of the award-winning Tigor EV, which is already deployed with several fleets and Gove
ment customers. This launch reinforces our commitment to sustainable mobility solutions in India."
The front grille of the car has a premium design. There is a shark-fin antenna along with an LED high mounted stop lamp at the rear of the car. The Tigor EV comes with classy grey and black interiors, signature EV decals on the side, stylish looking alloys. Some of the other features include a height-adjustable seat and superior seat fabric.
The car will be available in 3 variants – XE+, XM+, and XT+ – for both fleet and normal customers. The Tigor EV is available in 3 different colors namely, Pearlescent white, Egyptian blue, and Roman silver. The safety features of the Tata Tigor EV electric sedan include dual airbags and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), central locking, remote locking, child locks, etc. Although the XE+ trim car only has an airbag for the driver's seat.
The new Tata Tigor EV has a 21.5 kWh battery pack. The car also has two charging ports for fast charging and slow AC charging.
