Expected Pricing and Market Positioning
As per what we expect from a CBU unit, the Skoda Superb is likely to come in with a premium offering priced between ₹55 lakhs and ₹60 lakhs. However, this price is yet to be confirmed. Depending on the provisions of the India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which is expected to come into effect in 2027, duties on imports may drop sufficiently to make the Škoda Superb much more affordable than the forecasted prices currently being discussed.

If Skoda manages to price the Superb competitively, particularly with potential FTA-linked duty reductions, it could emerge as a genuine alternative to the Toyota Camry, currently the only other sedan occupying this premium segment.
Conclusion
The unveiling of the Skoda Superb Diesel represents a historic occasion not only for Skoda, but the entire diesel strategy of the Volkswagen Group in India following a six-year hiatus. With a powerful engine that delivers 150hp, a cabin packed with features styled in cognac and a flawless safety package, the Superb is in a commanding position as it is a viable premium car if Skoda comes up with a competitive pricing ahead of the car's expected arrival in 2027 when the India-EU FTA will cut down on import tariffs.
