The Skoda has revealed the new Skoda Octavia Internationally. The car has been unveiled on the 60th anniversary of the Skoda nameplate. The new Skoda Octavia car is bigger than its predecessors and it has been completely redesigned. Octavia is Skoda's bestseller car all over the world. The fourth-generation car has been redesigned with newer technologies as well as the first plug-in hybrid model of the car.rnrn
The Octavia is known as the “heart and engine” of the Skoda. Since the year 1996, over six million cars have been produced. The newest version has been built on the strengths of the existing car along with more space in the interior, better functionality as well as higher levels of safety and comforts. The Octavia will come in sedan style and estate style in the middle of 2020. Only the Octavia sedan body style will be offered for the Indian market and the launch will be made in 2020.rnrn
The new Skoda Octavia is larger in size for this generation. The length is longer by 19mm at 4,689 mm and the width is wider by 15mm at 1,829 mm. The wheelbase is 2,686mm and the size of the wheels is nearly 19-inches. The all-new Octavia has a sharp design, with optional matrix-LED headlamps as well as LED taillamps that are slimmer. The car has a 0.24 drag co-efficient, hence the aerodynamic efficiency has been improved. The new Skoda Octavia has a wider grille on the front side and the body lines, as well as haunches, are more pronounced. The ducktail-like rear end also looks nice.rnrn

The new Skoda Octavia’s exterior design has been brought up to the mark with the latest non-SUV models of Skoda namely the Scala and the new updated Skoda Superb. The front side of the Octavia has taken inspiration from the Scala's front end. The split headlight design of the old car has been removed and the redesigned units that are fitted with the standard-fit LED tech (full-matrix LEDs optional) are used. The car also offers the Three-zone climate control system for the first time and optional acoustic window glass too. Internationally, the new Skoda Octavia will be available in three trims namely, Active, Ambition and Style. The newest safety features are also present such as a collision-avoidance system, a hand-on-steering detection system, a system to warn the driver if a car is passing by when they open the doors, Smart touches, the umbrellas in the door panels, and a USB-C port found in the overhead console.rnrn
The Octavia plug-in hybrid variant has 1.4-litre turbo petrol along with the electric motor and 204PS with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission type. There is also a powerful 245PS version that will be coming later on. The turbo petrol engines are a 1.0-liter three-cylinder unit with 115PS, a 1.5-liter four-cylinder with 150PS and a 2.0-liter with 190PS.rnrn

The new Skoda Octavia will debut in the Indian market by the end of 2020. In India, Skoda Octavia will be available only in a petrol model. The Manual, as well as DSG dual-clutch autos, will be offered in the models available in India. A spicier version i.e. RS will also be available later. The expected price bracket for the Skoda Octavia is going to be Rs 20-30 lakh.rnrn
The current-gen Octavia RS 245 is going to be sold in the market as a limited-run model, the Skoda Superb facelift is also going to be launched soon and the revamped Skoda Rapid is in the process of being updated. Skoda will be showing their first model at the Auto Expo 2020, that is a mid-size SUV. rnrn
