The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 was launched in India as a game-changer for the brand. Introduced with a wide range of customizable accessories, the Hunter is also the least expensive option in the entire lineup. Now, Royal Enfield has launched the motorcycle in the US for USD 3,999, which is the equivalent of Rs 3.27 lakh, ex-showroom.
However, the Hunter 350 sold in the US is the same model sold in India without major changes. It continues to be offered in two variants, Metro and Retro, differentiated by colors, wheels, switchgear and instrumentation. However, both motorcycles come with the same 349cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that sits on a J-frame that it shares with the Classic and Meteor 350. This engine is capable of producing 20.2hp and 27Nm and is mated to a gearbox Five speeds.
Hardware is similar to the Meteor 350 and Classic 350 and consists of telescoping front forks and dual rear shocks to handle the suspension duties. On the other hand, the Retro's braking setup consists of a disc in the front and a drum unit in the rear and has a single-channel ABS system. Meanwhile, the Metro range uses disc brakes at both ends and dual-channel ABS as standard. The top version also benefits from an LED taillight in place of the base model's halogen unit.
